Small Groups

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

Here at Central UMC we would love to have everyone involved in a small group where you can make connections, develop relationships, and grow deeper in your faith. Please let us know which of these small groups you are interested in and your availability in the contact form below. Some of small groups available are:

Parenting Support Classes "Why Do They Act This Way and What Can I Do About It?" is currently meeting Wednesdays 5:15-6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall until November 16th. This class looks at what's going on in the minds and brains of our precious children at different developmental stages. We'll explore how we can best respond to help them and learn strategies to deal with the tough moments we all face as parents. Covers Newborn to Age 11 and childcare is available.

WINGS meets 3rd Wednesdays at 10:00am. This Women's Circle has published a cookbook “Holy Chow” proceeds from which were used to fund many church projects. If you would like to have one of these cookbooks, they are still available in the office. These caring, generous women enjoy their service projects as well as many fellowship activities. Members offer care and support for each other.

OWLS, the Older, Wiser, Livelier, Seniors is open to adults age 50 and over who enjoy having a nice lunch away from home. Once the people feel comfortable dining inside, we hope to resume meeting.

Bible Studies meet periodically throughout the year. They range from short term studies to long term Disciple studies and meet at different days and times.

Prayer Group is a group of people willing to pray daily for those on our prayer list. This group doesn't meet
in-person although it is certainly a possibility if the participants are agreeable.

Sunday School Classes meet 9:00am every Sunday
It is our belief that the Sunday School teaching program provides the glue that bonds our church family together. Spiritual enrichment and lasting friendships are benefits of the Sunday School program.
Adults have the opportunity to study and discuss the Old and New Testament as it applies to our daily lives. Dedicated teachers enlighten class members with their knowledge and abilities while encouraging growth through discussion and practice. We believe these classes strengthen our relationship with God, our marriages, our families, our friends and our community.
There is a place for you in Sunday School! You would be welcomed in any of these classes!
There are several classes to choose from, each with a different focus:
CORNERSTONE — (not meeting currently) Join us as we study Soul Keeping reminding us that the soul is the MOST important part of our being and how living the “with God” life isn’t just a good idea–it’s the only way to find lasting peace and satisfaction.
GROWING CHRISTIANS room E208 — Following the lectionary schedule of Scriptures provides students deep conversation as together we experience who God is and who we are as disciples of Christ.
HOEY BIBLE CLASS meet S2, Southside of the Sanctuary— Discover God’s mystery and wisdom as experienced through the creation stories found in Genesis.  Most Participants are Age 70+.
SAINTS & SINNERS room E203 — Discover God’s mystery and wisdom as experienced through the creation stories found in Genesis. Most Participants are Age 60+.
We are excited to regroup!
