Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Psalm 100: 1-2
All of Central’s various music ministries are up and running for this fall and we have many exciting things coming your way! Check out the highlights below and you’ll see that there’s something for everyone! If you would like to participate in any of the following music ministries, please contact Danny Buckner at 704-487-6336.
Open to any child 4yrs – 5th grade and meet each Wednesday 5-5:45pm. We will experience acceptance, love, and community as we engage with each other through visual and tactile art, music, movement and play. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall and start September 15, 2021 and run through May 4, 2022.
Crossfire is open to any 6th-12th grade youth and meets each Sunday 4:30-5:30pm. Crossfire is designed as a sacred choral experience exploring a variety of musical styles. If you’d like to hear The Light Before Christmas Program that they performed December 4th, it’s available here. In addition to the Christmas cantata, Crossfire offers music in worship on a monthly basis as well as special performances in our community.
This is Central’s hand bell choir. The ensemble is comprised of twelve ringers ringing four octaves of hand bells and rehearses each Tuesday 6:30-7:45 pm. The ensemble offers music frequently in worship. Central Ringers joined other bell choirs from around North Carolina in participating in the State Bell Festival in February 2017. Their December 23, 2018 performance is available here.
Chancel Choir and Praise Ensemble
These are the primary worship leadership ensembles for Central. Both groups rehearse each Wednesday evening on the following schedule:
6:00pm – Chancel Choir
7:15pm – Praise Ensemble
Chancel Choir is a choral experience that offers a wide variety of sacred anthems ranging from traditional to contemporary.
Praise Ensemble is both an instrumental and vocal experience that includes traditional and contemporary hymns as well as praise and worship music. Both groups share the leadership of our weekly congregational music.
