Newborn Visitor Committee
The purpose of the Newborn Visitor Committee is to make a visit in the home of babies born to church members. We present a small gift to the child on behalf of the church. In addition, we typically take a gift of food. We offer support to the family and let them know the church is thinking of them during this time.
Nursery Lambs, Guppies, Stars and Godly Play make up the nurturing environment of our children’s nurseries. At each level, children experience God’s love through play, stories and manipulatives. Godly Play helps children begin to learn religious language using methods patterned after Montessori.

Camp Loy White was founded on May 6, 1962 by the White family and others as a memorial to their teenage son, Loy, who was tragically killed in an auto accident. Camp Loy White is owned by the Gastonia District of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. The Camp Loy White committee oversees the management and operation of the camp. Currently, three members from Central serve on the Camp Loy White committee. On May 6, 2012, the camp will celebrate fifty years of ministry.
